Yes. The UnCommon program is designed to be appropriate for public school settings. All content is age-appropriate, classroom-friendly, and focused on supporting students in making informed, healthy decisions. The program can complement existing health education efforts and is suitable for a wide range of school communities.

The program is flexible and can fit within a standard class schedule. It is offered as either one 90-minute session or two 45-minute sessions, depending on the needs of the school or organization.

The UnCommon program is designed to support New York State health education expectations. It includes content related to HIV/AIDS awareness, risk reduction, and healthy decision-making, and aligns with key health education learning standards. It can be used as a supplement to district-level sexual health curricula.

The program is delivered by a trained presenter affiliated with Alight Center, Inc. Presenters are experienced in working with youth and facilitating discussions in a respectful, engaging, and age-appropriate manner.

The name “UnCommon” reflects the program’s focus on encouraging students to think independently and make thoughtful, informed choices. It emphasizes the value of making decisions that may differ from social pressures in order to support long-term health and well-being.
