A pregnancy options consultation is a confidential appointment designed to help you understand your pregnancy and the options available to you.
You don't need to know what decision you want to make before your appointment. You can come simply because you have questions or need a place to process what you're experiencing.

What Happens During a Pregnancy Options Consultation at Alight?
Every pregnancy options consultation at Alight begins with confirming your pregnancy.
1. Take a Pregnancy Test
A pregnancy test is included with every pregnancy options consultation at Alight. This allows us to verify whether you are currently pregnant.
2. Receive Free Medical Confirmation Through Ultrasound
When your pregnancy test is positive, Alight offers free referrals to our on-site medical office to receive pregnancy confirmation through ultrasound. An ultrasound can provide important information about your pregnancy, including how far along the pregnancy may be and whether the pregnancy is developing inside the uterus.
Having this information can help you better understand your situation as you consider your next steps.
3. Talk Through Your Pregnancy
Once you know more about your pregnancy, you'll have an opportunity to talk with an Alight staff member about what you're experiencing. You may want to discuss your relationship, finances, education, career, living situation, family, support system, or other circumstances that could affect your decision.
This is a time to ask questions and talk through what's on your mind.
4. Learn About Your Pregnancy Options
A pregnancy options consultation can help you learn more about the different options available to you.
Depending on your circumstances, you may have questions about:
Parenting
Adoption
Abortion
Pregnancy and parenting resources
Financial or material support
How your pregnancy could affect school, work, or relationships
You can ask questions about any of these options and take time to consider what they could mean for your future.
Do I Have to Know What I Want Before My Appointment?
No, you don't have to walk into your appointment knowing what you want to do.
Finding out you're pregnant can be a lot to process, particularly if the pregnancy was unexpected. You may have conflicting feelings or concerns about how a pregnancy could affect your future.
It's okay to have questions, it's okay to be unsure, and it's okay to need time to think. A pregnancy options consultation can simply be a first step toward getting the information you need to make an informed decision.
What Questions Should I Ask During a Pregnancy Options Consultation?
You can bring any questions or concerns you have to your appointment. Some questions you may want to ask include:
How far along am I?
What are my pregnancy options?
What would parenting look like for me?
What does adoption involve?
What does abortion involve?
What abortion procedures are available to me?
What should I consider before making a decision?
